Our starting point is India’s rich and pluralistic cultural heritage. Preserving its artistic traditions means recognising the knowledge, practices and cultural contexts from which they grow.

Kala Sangam Global carries forward a vision of the arts as a bridge: between tradition and modernity, between communities, and between India’s cultural heritage and the wider world.
Its story builds on the cross-cultural work of Kala Sangam, founded in the UK in 1993 by Drs Shripati and Geetha Upadhyaya. Kala Sangam is now known as Bradford Arts Centre; through Kala Sangam Global, the founders seek to extend their cultural vision internationally.
At its heart is a belief that India’s arts belong in a living, shared conversation. The organisation’s vision embraces people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, recognising cultural heritage not simply as something to preserve, but as a source of connection for future generations.
To serve as the confluence — Sangam — for Indian arts — Kala — bridging tradition and modernity while preserving and propagating India’s rich, pluralistic cultural heritage for a global audience and future generations.
A future where Indian arts and culture are an indispensable and universally recognised pillar of the global creative landscape: a living, dynamic repository inspiring cross-cultural understanding, innovation and human connection.
